Lively, clean hotel with efficient staff and a downstairs bar. Stunning and handy location very close to Gay Village, Canal Street and the centre in a central area. Nearby The Thompsons Arms - great place to chill out.

very close to city centre shopping & Picadilly Gardens (5min walk)
Extremely loud! This hotel is in an area surrounded by gay clubs & the rooms are above a pub so there is not very much peace & quiet,, we assume the owner lives in the flat above & you could hear them hoovering & rattling keys etc very clearly! - music & karaoke goes on until 2am. Parking is nearby buy cost us £35 for a day & a half.

Very friendly staff, room was clean and spacious. It was noisy above the bar Princess Street. We went down for a drink and a bit of karaoke and had a great time...If you cant beat em...join em.
Would have liked the third bed off the floor and two pillows would have been nice but staff bought a heater to the room as we were a bit chilly so all good really.

The room was tidy, but noisy due to the nightclub below.

A warm welcome, superb location for a night out on Canal Street, cleanliness of the room, no hassle checking in - we'll be back!
I didn't dislike this, but you should be aware they charge £20 for your key (cash only) which they refund upon departure.

The hotel was new in Charles Dickens' times.
Gay clubs all around, noize until 2.30 A.M. from everyday´s discoteque and from the gay pairs after it. Water drainage in the bathroom didn´t work.

A Lively Night in the Heart of Manchester
Enjoyed my stay as a solo traveler in a vibrant location. The bar downstairs played great music, keeping the atmosphere buzzing. A highlight was the really good shower pressure in my room, perfect for refreshing after a night out. For future guests, consider bringing earplugs if you're sensitive to noise.

Location
This was not really a hotel. It was a bar with very basic and flimsy walled bedrooms in a gay karaoke pub.Fine if you are in the mood to party and the staff were very nice but definitely not if you need any sort of privacy and sleep. The neighbouring room mates leave nothing to the imagination and if they are asleep the traffic outside is bad. Not suitable for children.

Clean, central, spacious room.
Quite noisy. It's above their bar (it's a hotel-bar) and they have loud music and shows until 2pm. Although my room was far from that, I also had the constant noise from the road (with buses, etc)

Lively Stay in the Heart of Manchester!
I had an enjoyable two-night stay above an energetic club. Waking up to the vibe of Canal Street was a treat! The bar staff were friendly, and I loved cozying up to a local beer after my outings. If partying's your game, this place won't disappoint!

Apart from the location and the cleanliness of the room there was not a lot else going for the establishment. Ideal though for a gay tourist wanting action as it's right on the doorstep of The Village. Basically it is a "Pub with rooms"
Karoke on the first night went on till 2am as did the disco on the second night. Inadequate soundproofing from the downstairs party events to the bedrooms on the next floor needs attention. The most serious concern was the confusing fire escape signage which directed you to a locked door leading into the bar when in fact it should be directed in the opposite direction. The bedside clock/alarm/radio was broken which I drew to the attention of one of the staff. It was not replaced. The accomodation needs some money spending on it. As there is no staff attending until 8am it is impossible to check out before that time as there is a £20 key deposit if you wished to make an early start back to London as I did.

I had a fabulous time! The entertainment every night was such a blast, and the clean, basic accommodations made it feel just right. Plus, those hardboard floors were a refreshing change from carpets!
